Hi, I'm James

I am a wedding photographer based in Tralee, County Kerry.

My wedding photography is a reflection of my personality and my experience. I initially self-taught in photography but turned pro after completing formal studies in portrait photography & studio lighting. In my heart I knew I could never be confined to a studio, drawn as I am to the wider world, so I embraced that calling by heading outdoors to shoot events and weddings.

In addition to enjoying this career I have also worked in the media, taking photographs on assignment for outlets including The Kerryman newspaper. This work has informed my wedding photography style. There is nothing more demanding of the photographer than capturing a moment that will not be repeated, you simply have to get the shot first time. I have adopted this ethos and taken it into my wedding photography, following a modern documentary shooting creed with a creative twist. In essence, I capture your day with style, without interference or fuss. Of course, there are the more formal portraits we all love to see, and I happily take them too, but I am able to work fast in these moments. There aren't endless retakes and I won't disrupt the flow of your day.

When I'm not working I can be found paddle-boarding off one of our local beaches or photographing our stunning scenery. Kerry is a photographer's dream. I also give my time to Pieta House in Tralee, photographing their fantastic fundraising events, something I am immensely proud of.

So, if you are planning a wedding in Kerry or beyond I would love to hear about your plans and how I can help. Enjoy the rest of the site and please use the contact form to send me your enquiry.
